Reframing the "Dad Bod"

The Dad Bod. Internet sensation of 2015 and something I've seen misinterpreted frequently over the years. First, according to a few viral videos, when girls talk about "liking" a "Dad Bod" they're talking about a better physique than you have. They don't mean that you should look sloppy, just that you don't have to be cover model lean to look good. There's a video where a bunch of girls refer to pro bodybuilder Chris Bumstead (about a month post show where he's gained a little fat back) as having a "dad bod", so if your excuse for your poor diet are that college girls like it, you're wrong. Second, if you're a dad, I think it's weird that you're trying to appeal to college girls. And although your wife loves you and says she doesn't mind your gut, she's lying to you. She would like it more if you didn't have it.

The physique aside, it's not the physique or its appeal that is my issue, it's the excuse. The "Dad Bod" as explanation for not caring about your own health is where I really start to prickle. It's the excuse that now that you have a kid you can't take care of yourself and eat well.

Your Dad Bod should be a model of the life you want for your kids. If you can't eat your kids snacks because they'll make you gain weight, stop feeding them to your kid. If you're eating something and you wouldn't want your kid to eat it because it would be bad for them, don't eat it. Make time to exercise and include your child in it so that they see it's needed, because I guarantee you they're not going to learn it in school. Either you teach them how to live a healthy lifestyle where they move every day, eat well and take care of themselves or you teach them to do none of those.

You're a role model for your child. It's up to you what you want to model for them.

That's why "The Last Diet" is so important for me. If I can help YOU make a change, that's going to put your children on the right path where they never even need someone like me. It's like the climax of a time travel movie where they've gone back in time and stopped the emergency from happening, except it's the present day and I'm helping your kid be a healthy adult, by helping YOU right now. The new lifestyle you're starting with us today is the last diet you're ever going to have to go on. And your kids are never going to have to go on a fad diet at all. Because you're going to show them the right way to live. Send me an email at corey@coreblendtraining.com and I'll get you started with a couple of easy steps. In a month you can be proud of the body you've built as a dad.

Still here? We have a few spots left at our "Founding Membership" rate at our new location on the North end of Oconee County. Send me an email at corey@coreblendtraining.com and I'll reserve the spots in the order I receive the emails. If we start NOW, you can be a different person by this summer. For you, for your wife, and for your kids. Let's do it.

Sincerely,

Corey Davis
